Terms and Conditions

Classes and Drives: Ages 14 to 17

• Amy’s Driving School LLC. meets the States requirements for Teen Drivers Education. The classroom portion consists of 15 meetings, 2 hours each (30 total hours). Students must also achieve a minimum grade of 75% on the written final exam to pass the classroom training. Students not achieving this grade after 2 attempts must retake the entire course and pay a $220 reinstatement fee.
• Amy’s Driving School LLC. is not responsible if the student leaves the premises during breaks. Students are not permitted to remain in the classroom after class without instructor supervision. Classroom rules are discussed on the first day of class. Parents will be notified the first time a student fails to follow these rules. Subsequent violations may lead to expulsion, which will result in forfeiture of all amounts paid to date and cancellation of the student’s learner’s permit. Students who show up more than 10 minutes late will be asked to leave and have to reschedule that class for the day.
• The Behind-the-Wheel portion of the class is made up of at least 6 lessons, each being two hours in length (1hour driving/1 hour observing). Students are responsible for transportation to and from all lessons, unless previously scheduled for home pick up (zip code 60013 only.) Amy’s Driving school LLC. is not responsible for students prior to or after the completion of instruction time.

Teen Enrollment Requirements

• Must be 15 years old before the last day of the classroom portion of the class.
• Students must provide verification that he /she is enrolled in school and has received passing grades.
• Student must complete this contract, and be enrolled in the class.
• Tuition must be paid in full.
• It is the responsibility of the student to obtain the permit from the Secretary of State’s office. Students are required to pass a written and a vision test before the Secretary of State will issue the Permit. Students must have a permit prior to driving with an instructor. Students are required to hold their permit for a minimum of (9) months, or until they turn 18, before obtaining a license. Students should complete 4 hours of classroom instruction prior to driving with an instructor.
• According to Illinois State Law, a Minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction is required.
• Any student absent for more than (4) class sessions will be dropped, and their permit will be rescinded. Students who are dropped will be required to reenroll and start the class over. Should re-enrollment be required, all funds previously collected will not be refunded, and new charges will apply. Any absences of (4) or less must be made up during one of our upcoming classes, and any missed work must be completed. All canceled classes due to weather or unforeseen circumstances will be made up at a later date.
• Driving Lessons—Based on your package: each driving session last at least an hour, two hours if they are scheduled for observation. Each student will drive for (1) Hour and Observe for (1) Hour. Students are required by Illinois State Law to complete a minimum of (6) Hours of Behind the Wheel Instruction, and (6) Hours of Observation. (These Hours do not count toward the additional (50) Hours of Practice Driving required by Illinois State Law) Students are required to give (48) hours’ notice of cancellation. Students who fail to give proper notice of cancellation, will be subject to a $50 fee. Students will not be allowed to drive until this fee has been paid. Drives will be cancelled if a student is more than 10 minutes late, wearing flip flops/ open-toed shoes, or doesn’t have a physical permit (copies or pictures will not be accepted). According to Illinois state law, students MUST have their ORIGINAL driving permit with them for all In-Vehicle lessons. A copy or digital image of the permit is not acceptable. Students arriving for an In-Vehicle lesson without their permit will have their lesson cancelled and will be assessed a $50 Late Cancel/No Show fee.
• Drive Time Scheduling—Drive times will be scheduled at various times throughout the week and on the weekends. Students cannot drive during their scheduled class time or within 24 hours from their previous lesson and is encouraged to have 5-10 practice hours between lessons.
• Deposit—A deposit of $100 is required to register for the class. The remainder of the tuition is due the first day of class. Class size is limited to the first (35) students registered. There is a $25 service charge on all returned checks.
• Refunds—Amy’s Driving School LLC. will refund any money paid in advance for a class if the student drops prior to the first day of class. All other refunds will be prorated based on how long the class has been in session. If a permit application has been issued it must be returned and permits already issued will be rescinded.
• Under the Influence – Students will be dropped from class if found to be under the influence of Alcohol, or any illegal substances during class or drive time. This is your only warning!!

NO REFUNDS!

• Students are required to complete the (30) classroom hours mandated by state law as well as drive for (6) hours, and observe for (6) hours, or 8 hours of just drives. Students have (9) months to complete the entire course. All In-Vehicle training must be completed within 9 months from the first day of class (the “Completion Date”). This is a Secretary of State requirement. In Vehicle training scheduled after the Completion Date will be subject to an additional $160 fee. Students MUST pass an In-Vehicle evaluation to be eligible for the Secretary of State “Certificate of Completion.” At Amy’s Driving School LLC. We encourage our students to sign up for drives sooner than later so we don’t have to worry about last minute drives.
• Upon completion of all the requirements, and payments made in full, Amy’s Driving School LLC. will send the State of Illinois a letter of Certification. Students will then receive a letter from the State in about 2-5 weeks. If a student is unable to pass the Driving Portion of their driver’s exam, Amy’s Driving School LLC. will not be held responsible, the student can sign up for additional drives to redo their exam drive.

*On occasion Amy’s Driving School LLC. will use photos, videos and other digital media of students and classes in publications, on our website and on social media to promote our programs. By acknowledging these Terms & Conditions, parents authorize Amy’s Driving School to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these photos for such lawful purposes.

PAYMENT

Payment in full is required to enroll online. Amy’s Driving School LLC accepts all major credit cards. A student account must have a zero balance prior to scheduling In-Vehicle lessons. Failure to pay in full by the first scheduled day of class will result in an additional $25 fee. Amy’s Driving School LLC. will not refund any fee, tuition, charge or any part thereof should we be willing and able to fulfill our part of the agreement. Any class changes requested by a customer such as, but not limited to, transfers, changing start date and changing class time after the first day of the class session are subject to a $200 non-refundable fee. Amy’s Driving School reserves the right to change fees at any time without prior notice.
